Terms and Conditions

1. The promotion is open to all adults aged 18 or over in the UK or Channel Islands including employees of Centrica and it’s associated businesses, Redeem plc and their agents and anyone else professionally connected with promotion who may exist as a British Gas customer.

2. To qualify for cheque or BACS payment, participants must return a handset that appears on the qualifying list, available on www.tradeinmymobile.co.uk

3. Cheques or BACS payments will be made payable to the participant as stated on the entry form. The promoter will not be held responsible for any error by the participant.

4. Cheques and BACS payments will be issued within 30 days of the promoter receiving a qualifying handset, as long as the relevant contact details (name,address etc..) are provided.

5. It is strongly recommend that all participants register their handsets online or by telephone before sending to the promoter.

6. The price of a handset may change from when it is registered to when it is actually received at the processing centre. The value of the handset will be confirmed on receipt at the processing centre. The promoter reserves the right to change the contents and values of the qualifying list at any point. Handsets will not be returned in these circumstances.

7. Handsets that are water damaged, have no ability to power on or to retain a charge, are in a state of disrepair, have damaged LCD screens, are aesthetically damaged or have any other defects which have an impact on their ability to be reused will receive a revised payment or no payment if deemed to have no commercial value. If the handset has no commercial value neither the participant nor charity will receive payment, the promoter will recycle the handset responsibly. The conditions for revised payments are shown in point 8 below.

8. Where a handset is deemed to have a lower value upon receipt due to the cosmetic or working condition, a revised offer will be made. The participant will be given 14 days to respond to the revised offer:

a. If the participant chooses not to accept the revised offer, the handset will be returned by post within 30 days. The promoter will do its utmost to return the original handset, however if this is not possible, a similar handset of the same or higher value will be returned.

b. If the participant accepts the revised offer, the handset will be processed as agreed between the participant and the promoter. If no response is received within the 14 day period, then the participant will be deemed to have accepted the revised offer and will receive payment for this value.

9. Mobile phones can not be returned to the participant in the following circumstances:

a. If the participant does not register their handset on-line or by telephone (08451 300696) before sending to the promoter.

b. If the handset received is different to the make and model registered by the customer on-line or by telephone. The order will be processed based upon the handset received, not the handset registered.

10. All phone locks that require a pin code should be removed before sending the handset to the processing centre. If the participant has not removed phone locks, meaning the handset can not be fully tested, a revised or £0.00 value offer will be made. Handsets can not be returned in these circumstances.

11. If the mobile phone is included on the qualifying list shown on www.tradeinmymobile.co.uk with a £0.00 value the handset will be defined as non-reusable and £2 will be donated to Save the Children automatically. No payment will be made to the participant in these circumstances.

12. The promoter will accept handsets that are not included on the qualifying list shown on www.tradeinmymobile.co.uk, however; these handsets can not be returned under any circumstances and no payment will be made to the customer or charity.

13. No responsibility will be accepted for handsets lost, damaged or delayed in the post. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The promoter recommends that the participant returns handsets with a value by recorded delivery to Redeem plc, 31 – 37 Etna Road, Falkirk, Scotland, FK2 9EG.

The promoter recommends that only One mobile handset is returned in each envelope. A maximum of five phones per household will be accepted as part of this promotion.

14. Redeem recommend that when sending your mobile you obtain a certificate of posting from your Post Office. This will allow you to claim up to £34 for items not received. If the value of your phone is more than this then we recommend sending by Special Delivery.

15. Registered handsets must be returned within six months otherwise the order will be deleted from the system. The participant would have to re-register the handset to participate.

16. Participants of the campaign agree to be bound by the terms and conditions stated and by other requirements as set out on promotional material. All instructions form part of the rules.

17. All information submitted by the customer will be controlled by Redeem plc and British Gas. British Gas may want to contact the customer about other products and services by mail, telephone, visit or email.

18. Redeem will not rent or sell your information to anyone else. Redeem plc is a responsible data controller registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. Contact Redeem plc if you have any data protection concerns.

19. Neither Redeem plc nor British Gas will be responsible for any loss incurred in the event of SIM cards or customer data not being removed from mobile phones.
